Partnership Liaison Officer
Elena del Pup joined the StartLife team in October 2021 as a Partnership Liaison Officer. In her role, she provides assistance to our partnership activities, which includes but is not limited to co-organizing meet and greets between startups and StartLife’s corporate and investors partners. She also supports in the startup scouting activities.
In 2020, Elena completed her undergraduate studies in Agricultural Sciences at the University of Pisa, in Italy, graduating magna cum laude. Today, she studies for a master’s degree in Plant Sciences at Wageningen University, with a specialty in Plant Breeding and Genetic Resources. Elena is also Board Member at GeneSprout Initiative, a youth-led organization that advocates for an open dialogue on New Plant Breeding Techniques and their Policy in Europe.
Previously, Elena briefly worked as a Junior Investment Analyst at the European Circular Bioeconomy Fund and had an internship at the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture at the FAO in Rome, focusing on the impact of the genomic data revolution on Access and Benefit Sharing. She also worked in topics ranging from organic supply chains, supply chains of environmental goods and plant breeders’ rights at institutions such as Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies and the National Research Council of Agricultural Economics (CREA) in Rome.
Elena is a true agrifoodtech enthusiast and believes in the transformative potential of small agro-food businesses. She is delighted to contribute to StartLife’s mission to accelerate startups shaping a sustainable food system.
