MycoCycling produces gourmet mushrooms on local organic waste (e.g. coffee grounds). Subscribed households can pick-up their “mushroom box” weekly at various locations around Wageningen. By doing it this way they create a smaller environmental footprint while producing mushrooms with a stronger aroma and freshness than consumers might be used to. Until now, they converted two server storage containers into innovative growing facilities in which they can cultivate mushrooms all year around.
