Carolina Villa

At Startlife, Carolina is actively involved in engaging tech & insight partners like universities, corporates & research centers with the StartLife ecosystem to build promising startups in the AgriFoodTech sector. She fulfils the role of Business Developer. In this new position, she is highly involved in setting up StartLife’s newest endeavour, the StartLife Venture Studio.
 

Carolina earned her doctorate in Bioprocess Design from TU Delft, then she went on to work at DSM as a scientist. Her desire to create a positive impact on the world with sustainable and circular economy, led her to join Planet B.io at a very nascent stage. She nurtured the biotechnology focused scale up ecosystem with her expertise and created a strong network with public and private enterprises to support the development of the ecosystem. She earned her MBA from Erasmus University (RSM). She later joined CJ Bio (South Korea) as business developer for human nutrition and health.  

Her exposure to building new ventures and her strong commitment to support startups that want to create an impact make her an excellent addition to the StartLife team!
