Tom van den Boogaart is a global account director at IQVIA, a leader in helping healthcare companies accelerate innovation. Tom has had a passion for the life sciences for the majority of his professional career which is due to a combined interest in biology and the wish “to contribute to solving the challenges the world is facing today”. Having worked across geographies, cultures, companies and disciplines Tom understands that commercial success is about integrative thinking.
While most organizations still have separate functions/departments that focus either on sales, marketing, business development and even strategy, it is the integration and alignment that is the key to success. Sales cannot work without aligning with marketing and vice versa, strategy is not about trying to do everything but about focus and deciding where not to play, and business development does not equal sales.
