Phycom, StartLife alumnus, today announced an investment of around €9M from key partners. The investment round ensures the cultivation of microalgae with consistent top quality on an industrial scale. The microalgae producer in Veenendaal is honored that the investors have endorsed the future of food and the production of microalgae for healthy humans and animals.

All parties involved in this investment value Phycom’s distinctive technology for the large-scale cultivation of microalgae and support the cost-effectiveness and sustainability principle of its systems. Investors support Phycom’s products becuase microalgae potentially play a crucial role in transforming our food system as a sustainable protein alternative.

Phycom expansion plans

In addition to the new investors, this round also received renewed support from all existing shareholders. The Phycom team has spent the past four years building two manufacturing facilities in Veenendaal, with which the technology and scalibility of microalgae production has been proven. This investment paves the way for expansion of the Phycom team at all levels of the organization. With this, the appointment of new complementary board members on the horizon. In addition, it will help expand marketing activities and fund further technology development funding.
