The Mediterranean Food Lab (MFL), StartLife à la Carte participant, closes their Series A round with $17M, around €15.5M.
Gullspång Re:food led the funding round, along with StartLife Investor Partner PeakBridge, Arancia Industrial SA de CV, FoodBridge (Axel Johnson group), and additional investors, together bringing vast food industry expertise to MFL’s mission to greatly accelerate the protein transition revolution.
The Mediterranean Food Lab’s proprietary Solid-State Fermentation technology transforms food ingredients, such as legumes, grains, and upcycled food side streams, into high-value, 100% natural, animal-free, clean-label, radically delicious flavors and culinary ingredients for Food Service and CPG companies.
The investment will help the Israeli startup scale up industrial production and build a team to lead the European commercialization of their game-changing flavor ingredients.
